چکیده

The solvable sl(n)-chiral Potts model can be interpreted as a three-dimensional lattice model with local interactions. To within a minor modification of the boundary conditions it is an Ising type model on the body centered cubic lattice with twoand threespin interactions. The corresponding local Boltzmann weights obey a number of simple relations, including a restricted star-triangle relation, which is a modified version of the well-known star-triangle relation appearing in two-dimensional models. We show that these relations lead to remarkable symmetry properties of the Boltzmann weight function of an elementary cube of the lattice, related to spatial symmetry group of the cubic lattice. These symmetry properties allow one to prove the commutativity of the row-to-row transfer matrices, bypassing the tetrahedron relation. The partition function per site for the infinite lattice is calculated exactly.

From Coalgebra to Bialgebra for the Six-Vertex Model: The Star-Triangle Relation as a Necessary Condition for Commuting Transfer Matrices

Using the most elementary methods and considerations, the solution of the star-triangle condition a 2+b2−c2 2ab = (a ′)2+(b′)2−(c′)2 2a′b′ is shown to be a necessary condition for the extension of the operator coalgebra of the six-vertex model to a bialgebra. A portion of the bialgebra acts as a spectrum-generating algebra for the algebraic Bethe ansatz, with which higher-dimensional representa...

Graphical Approach to the Nonintersecting String Model: Star-triangle Equation, Inversion Relation, and Exact Solution

A general q-state nonintersecting string model for q Z 2 is studied, and solved, using a graphical approach. This model, of which special cases were first introduced by Stroganov and Schultz, has recently drawn further attention because of its relation to Potts models. In its simplest version, a uniform, separable nonintersecting string model on a quadratic lattice, it corresponds to a q*-state...

On conformal invariant integrals involving spin one-half and spin-one particles

We consider the evaluation of D-dimensional conformal invariant integrals which involve spin one-half and spin-one particles. The star-triangle relation for the massless Yukawa theory is derived, and the longitudinal part of the three-point Green function of massless QED is determined to the lowest order in position space. The operator algebraic method of calculating massless Feynman integrals ...

Star – triangle equivalence in soap froths

In two dimensional foams at equilibrium, triangular bubbles can be freely exchanged with 3-fold stars —three edges ending at a central vertex. This theorem is deduced here from Moukarzel’s duality. Moreover, to probe the method, a few related properties are established: under slow gas diffusion, T2 processes are continuous for triangles but not for other types of bubbles. In general, the gas fl...

Three-point Green function of massless QED in position space to lowest order

The transverse part of the three-point Green function of massless QED is determined to the lowest order in position space. Taken together with the evaluation of the longitudinal part in arXiv:0803.2630, this gives a relation for QED which is analogous to the star-triangle relation. We relate our result to conformal-invariant three-point functions.
